Centenary students can choose to complete a Bachelorís degree and a Master of Arts in teaching in either four years or five years. Students work closely with an academic advisor to select courses that satisfy requirements for a content area bachelorís degree and the required graduate level course work to earn the Master of Arts in Teaching. The student may then be eligible for teacher certification.
Students who complete this program graduate Centenary with two degrees:
- a Bachelor's Degree in a content field
- a Master of Arts in Teaching
The Department of Education is dedicated to ensuring that students gain practical experience applying the principles of learning. Through participant observation in local classrooms, our students research, develop, and implement creative lessons in real schools while they pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching.
