About Us

Not satisfied with the status quo?

Neither are we.

Centenary College has upheld its strong academic reputation since its founding in 1825—that's 190 years spent preparing students to DO MORE in the world!

We are a private, four-year arts and sciences college affiliated with the United Methodist Church, and we are the oldest chartered liberal arts college west of the Mississippi River.
We are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Centenary is one of 16 colleges and universities constituting the Associated Colleges of the South (ACS). Centenary is a Tier One National Liberal Arts College and is ranked as one of Princeton Review's "379 Best Colleges."

Building on our historic strengths, we are expanding opportunities to study global challenges throughout the curriculum—such as living sustainably in a world with finite resources; searching for meaning and developing our values and beliefs; and expanding our circles to promote respectful engagement in an interconnected world.

Explore our academic offerings and leadership opportunities to learn about the many ways to DO MORE at Centenary!
