What's your favorite Centenary memory?
"Organic chemistry was a difficult class for me. It was very interesting, but I struggled with memorizing reactions. Therefore, test days were daunting for me. But the professor made it less so by always providing doughnuts during test days. It was always such a nice gesture since I was freaking out, but knowing there were warm glazed doughnuts available as soon as I walked in the door, was calming. And I always thought it was incredibly generous of the teacher to supply doughnuts for everyone, on every test day."

How has Centenary impacted your life since you've attended?
"Coming from so far away, I've been exposed to many different customs and cultures than I was used too. While difficult at some points, I believe it has helped shape my character and the person I am today. In addition, I feel like I am more open minded and respectful to others beliefs as well. Plus, I easily fell in love with the Louisiana culture, food, and people!"

What is your favorite Centenary memory?
"My favorite Centenary memory is the day I was late to Biology class. I decided to take a nap after Chemistry class one day, and I thought I had set my alarm to wake up for my next class, Biology. I woke up to my phone ringing and believe it or not, it was my Biology professor. He was calling me to make sure I was okay since I was late to class!"

"Since coming to Centenary I have really matured a lot. I have become a lot more outgoing as well. There are so many things to get involved in, so you can find something that you're passionate about and make a difference. With such a small school you aren't a small fish in a big pond, so people will know about things that you've done well and congratulate you on it. How has Centenary impacted your life since you've attended?
"I was really nervous about leaving home at first, but I soon found that I had nothing to worry about. We all came from different cities and were all worried that everyone was from Shreveport. That’s what I like about Centenary. Even on a small campus (to which there are a lot of perks), I got to meet so many different people from all over the place. It made me realize how much more I want to travel. I’m really excited to go on a module with Centenary in the spring."

What's your favorite Centenary memory?
"Just one??? Well... I am a member of the world renowned Centenary College Choir. We recently took a trip to Brazil and Argentina and sang "The Lord Bless You and Keep You" in front of the "Christ the Redeemer" statue which overlooks all of Rio de Janeiro. Had i enrolled in another school, I would not have had this opportunity. This coming February we are singing in Carnegie Hall in New York... How awesome is that?!"

What's your favorite Centenary memory?
"Centenary has made a huge impact on my life throughout my two years attending. The administration, faculty, staff, and students have all impacted my opportunties and experiences here tremendously. Opportunties and experiences have arisen that would not have been possible without Centenary shaping those for me. Since attending I have become part of the Advisory Board for the Chirstian Leadership Center, Co-Head Student Ambassador, chair of several committees, and attended several Board of Trustees meetings. Centenary truly values me not only as a student, but as a person. I feel that Centenary College has prepared me to succeed not only here, but in the real world."

What's your favorite Centenary memory?
"My favorite Centenary moment was during an event called "The Big Event." I've volunteered the last two years, but last year was incredible. Not only could I actually see the difference I was making, but I could see it on the faces of those in need. To realize that the joy the people experienced came from the hands of Centenary students was heartwarming, and I loved that we could come together as the family that we are in order to accomplish something great. Our society really needs people like us, and I was so glad that we could take the initiative."

How has Centenary impacted your life since you've attended?
"Perspective is how a person views the world around ones-self. It influences the things such as their feelings, or how one interacts with people they meet. A person lacking perspective will be unable to see important things in front of them or recognize the proper choices to make at the crossroads of life. I feel that the liberal arts education that I have received at Centenary College has helped me gain the perspective to step back from the world and see it with a clear mind. It has taught me, on one spectrum, top analyze a situation in order to make the best possible decision and, on the other spectrum, when to listen to what my heart is telling me. I truly feel that by going to this college, I have gained the capacity to figure out how to contribute to this world in the most positive manner. A gift that is beneficial to both myself and society."

How has Centenary impacted your life since you've attended?
"Education has always been very important to me, especially in the field of science. For this reason, I chose to attend the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, from which I gained an immense amount of knowledge in the field of science. After graduating high school, I wanted to further my education, and Centenary College gave me that opportunity. It has excellent, chemistry, and physics departments, which prepared me well for taking the Medical College Admission Test, or MCAT, in order to apply to medical school."

What's your favorite Centenary memory
"My favorite Centenary memory would have to be when I was a sophomore during the spring semester. We had just returned from winter break and the forecast called for snow. My friends and I were in Mickle Hall(science building) studying for a Chemistry test, but we couldn't help ourselves from checking the report and school closings every five minutes. We went to bed with the worry of having to take our exam the next morning, but when we woke up everything was covered in snow. All classes were canceled so we bundled ourselves up to go play in the snow. The campus was filled with students building snowmen and having snowball fights. We went to the big hill on campus and began sledding down over and over again. A few minutes later President Rowe arrived with his kids to join us and we all had a great afternoon enjoying the snow!"
