A transfer student is defined as one entering Centenary from another institution of higher learning.
The application review timetable for transfer candidates differs from freshman deadlines. In most cases, Centenary uses a 'rolling' process for transfers, meaning that once an application for admission is complete, students are notified of their status within 3-4 weeks.
Official college transcripts are required for ALL college-level work attempted, regardless of transferability.
Priority consideration will be given to transfer students applying prior to February 15 and students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA by this same date.
Our FAFSA code is 002003.
Applications are due no later than December 1 and students interested in need-based financial aid should be sure to have a copy of the FAFSA to Centenary by December 15.
The Admission Committee will only review a 'complete' transfer application, which consists of the following items:
A completed application, whether online or in print;
An official high school transcript mailed directly from the high school that indicates graduation date;
An official college transcript mailed directly from each college attended;
A statement of intent to transfer (250-500 words);
A copy of SAT I and/or ACT test results sent directly to Centenary, or scores reported on the official high school transcript (faxes and student copies are not official). This requirement may be waived if a student has more than 30 transferable hours or has reached his/her 25th birthday;
At least one letter of recommendation from a college professor or advisor, but additional sources are also welcomed to provide additional recommendations on the student's behalf.
