Centenary Connection Remains Strong

Alumnus Noel Tipton ‘54 shares his thoughts on how Centenary keeps even its most geographically distant alums connected to their alma mater via Centenary Magazine. “Living so far away from Shreveport and having lost contact with many of my Centenary friends, I was thrilled to be brought back ‘home’ to the Centenary I remember and all that it means to me. The comprehensive liberal arts education I received there, coupled with the professional training in my major field, has served me well and enriched my life. Your publication captured the Centenary ‘feeling’ as the interesting articles revealed its remarkable growth, both physically and intellectually, since the 1950's when I was there. Congratulations to all, and again, thanks.” Centenary Magazine is published twice per year and can now be viewed online.

End of Year Gifts Make A Big Difference to Camerata Students

Making an end-of-the-year gift to Centenary will immediately help current students, will benefit your alma mater, and will constitute a 2006 charitable contribution. Make a designated gift of any amount to Camerata between now and December 31st to:

  • Assist in increasing the overall percentage of alumni participation. The goal is 25% by June 30, 2007. Presently, we are less than halfway there.
  • Provide YOU with a charitable contribution for tax year 2006!

It’s a win-win scenario! Please make a gift today. No contribution is too small or insignificant—your support will make a difference!

Alumni and Students Explore Growth and Development

As these photos show, participants spent the morning talking in small groups. The guests shared life experiences and interesting tales of their time at Centenary. Dr. Hammond plans to make this an annual experience and will invite elder alumni and friends to participate next year. If you are interested, e-mail her at ahammond@centenary.edu.
