Students pose with Sheri Allen ’78, Amanda McCarter ’04, and Lindsay Holman ’01 following their presentation, “A Career in Broadcast News.”
Photo of the month
Last month we invited two alumnae back to campus to share their career stories since graduation. Lindsay Holman ’01 and Sherri Allen from KTBS Channel 3 spoke at Centenary’s Career Connections on January 24, 2006. They explained how news gets discovered, written, and broadcast. Centenary students listened eagerly to Lindsay and Sherri describe the charge of a news station. Lindsay graduated with a degree in Communications TV/Film/Radio and is currently the midday and 6 pm producer. Sherri Allen reports and anchors the 5 pm and 10 pm news. Her honors include the 2004 Louisiana Governor's Advocacy Award for Adoption. For the past four years, Sherri has been voted "Best Anchor in Shreveport-Bossier" by SB Magazine readers. Career Connections was developed to provide students with an opportunity to have an inside look at different career options.
