2008-09 Bloggers
Our 2008-09 bloggers are underway.
Greetings from the Island of Naxos!
Hello everyone! Sorry about not posting as many blogs recently. We’ve had very limited internet access. I’m having such a great time on my trip and have so many pictures and videos to share with you. Unfortunately the computers I’ve been at aren’t accepting my pictures, so I’ll have to upload those when I get back to the states. Our hotel is right on the beach, and the weather is great. I’ve been working on more greek phrases: for example efcharisto means thank you, to which people respond para kalo (you’re welcome). We’ve had pretty much good luck with our hotels. I have pictures of those too. Stray dogs walking on the street are called skilos, and they are very friendly and will spend a lot of time following you around just wanting to play. I will update you more when I get back, but unfortunately I have to share my time on the computer with other modulers.Kalispera! (good afternoon!)

That is goodnight in Greek! I’m in Greece right now. We just arrived today, and I’m already having a wonderful time. We had a four course dinner tonight which was fabulous. Tomorrow, we are visiting the Acropolis! I can’t wait! I took a bunch of pictures, but I can’t upload them with the computer at the hotel. Hopefully I can find a compatible computer soon! Otherwise I will load all my pictures and videos when I get back to the states! I hope everyone is having a great summer! I will keep you updated!
Andio! (goodnight)

This weekend was so busy, but so much fun! On Saturday, I wke up at 8:30, to be at Jones Rice Field for the first annual quidditch tournament (See above picture). I was a ref, that followed the snitch around (which was a boy dressed in gold, who ran really fast all over the school). For two games, I played for the zeta team. I was the seeker, so yay more running. At one point I had to go after the snitch who climbed the backstop between Jones Rice and Hardin. The last game finished at 2:00 and the RA team, Huffnstuff, won. I then showered quickly and went to Turner Art building to see Kate Buchanan’s art show. I was excited to see snacks, because I hadn’t eaten lunch yet.
After spending time to look at her art, I went to the AED Crawfish Boil put on by AED and the biology department, with help from SGA. It was hosed by professors Beth and Ed Leuck of the Biology department, like it is every year. AED even sold desserts! There’s a fancy crawfish boil t-shirt too.
After leaving the crawfish boil, I went to the Escaped Images dance recital. The dancers were amazing. I am so proud of all of them! My Zeta Baby Jayme even tapped on stage and was so cute.
After the dance recital, I went to a Zeta Senior party and Jessica Pfanner, and Caitlin Feulberth’s house. I had a lot of fun there, and even got to play with Caitlin’s cute baby bunny.
On Sunday, I worked on the senior video, and figured out how to work the projector in Mickle 114. Then I went to go practice Tap for our Tap dance final on Wednesday. We have to come up with a combination to perform for the class. After practicing, I went to our Greece Module meeting at Turner. We learned about our trip this Summer, and were taught how to dance Greek. We had so much fun learning. After that, I went and ate really quickly and ran to the Zeta House for EC meeting, and then we had senior night!!! It went over well, even though I was having sound difficulties with the video.
Congratulations Seniors! I’m so proud of you!!
