Back Into the Swing of Things
So school is officially in session again. I found myself missing all of my friends here over break, and it's been great having them back!
I spent my break in West Monroe with my family, doing absolutely nothing productive at all. And it was wonderful! It was a nice change from the busy schedule I had been keeping at school. But by the end of it I was definitely ready to get out and see everyone.
To kick off my return to school, I went on our annual "jan tour" with CHOR. We left on the 8th for a six-day tour across southern Louisiana. I was worried that six days with the same people all day long would get frustrating, but it wasn't bad at all. I guess I was just so glad to have everyone around again, that I couldn't get enough of them!! My favorite part of the tour was last Saturday when we made a stop in Mandeville. We went to my home church and performed a concert that night and sang in three services the next morning. I got to see so many friends from high school that I haven't been able to see in so long! We also spent that Saturday afternoon in New Orleans, so that was pretty exciting as well. I didn't take as many pictures that day as I had meant to, but I got plenty at our stop at Hodges Gardens one of the first days of tour.

I can't possibly think of a better way to start a semester than that tour. It was perfect!
So far it's looking like this semester will be much less stressful than the last one. Thank goodness! My schedule is still full, but I think the workload will be much better. I love my two new classes, Southern Lit. and Theatre Analysis and Criticism. I absolutely adore them! I can't wait to really get deep into the topics we'll be studying. I guess I'm a bit of a nerd that way!
Right now I'm off to do a bit of the reading I need to finish for those two classes. I'm taking advantage of having the room to myself. My roommate is out with her Chi Omega family right now. She was initiated into the sorority this morning, so I'm incredibly excited for her!
Now I'll be spending an hour or so with William Faulkner and his lovely characters then some time with the hilarity of the characters in the play Lysistrata. Hopefully I'll finish my required reading tonight! Wish me luck!
