Craig Robinson and a New Semester!
I am officially back at school and starting my last semester of college. Some would be very excited about this but for me I am terrified! I think I am having an end of college panic attack. I am not quite sure what I am going to do after graduation or where I am going to be or really much of anything other than the fact that I am no longer going to have to schedule my meals around classes, my classes around friends, and live a "college student" lifestyle for a while. I have decided not to go to graduate school right away because I need some time to relax before going back to school. This semester I am taking some not fun classes and some not so fun classes. I am taking Shakespeare, Cognition: Embodied & Extended (a philosophy class), Sex and Gender in Society (a sociology class), Pottery, Golf for Business and Life, and an independent study with Dr. Stafford (a psychology professor). My schedule is anything but easy, definitely poor planning on my part. There is a time to push yourself academically and experience intellectual growth, but for me, the time is not my last semester of my senior year. I have so much going on with Fighting Squirrels, College Democrats, and Zeta Tau Alpha. Not to mention all of my school work to think about. Hopefully this semester will calm down a bit but that is rarely the case.
We started school back up on January 14th and my birthday is January 15th, the big 22, watch out! For my birthday a few amazing friends and I went to one of our favorite hang-outs, Kon Tiki, to start off the night. We hung out there for a while and then went to meet some people at Sharpie's but didn't stay very long. We headed back to the dorms to have some amazing birthday cake (compliments of my roommate, Tiffany) and to just hang out for a bit. Considering we all had class the next day we didn't stay out to long but I had an absolute blast!

Next up was the much anticipated Craig Robinson performance. So much work was put into the performance happening, it seemed like we barely had anytime at all to actually pull it off! Everyone on Fighting Squirrels worked incredibly hard. Craig Robinson is a comedian who is a regular on "The Office", he was also on "Knocked Up" as well as other movie and television appearances. We worked all day to get the stage, tables and chairs, and security set-up. About 150 people came to watch Craig Robinson, and although it wasn't really what we expected it was a great show. Micheal Cera (from "Juno") actually came to watch Craig because they are friends from a previous movie that they had worked on. There are so many movies being filmed in Shreveport right now that you really never know who you are going to see!

All in all this semester has been stressful, amazing, fast-paced, and memorable. I can't wait to see what else happens this year. Thanks for reading and check back in soon!
