Dealing with Pictures
Of course, you can embed pictures using normal [show...] constructions and uploaded files. The full details on such methods are to be found in the wiki documentation.
However, a better method when you have many photos per entry may be for you to embed a Google-slideshow (see example). You can easily create such slideshows from either Picasa (on a PC or Linux) or the iPhoto-Picasa bridge (Mac).
Either Picasa or iPhoto will also afford you easy ways to do lots of things with your photos including exporting them at the proper size to upload as an attachment (max width 400px currently when you're directly uploading files to centenary.edu; no resizing to worry about if you use picasa).
All of this software and the associated web services are free and require no special expertise.
Dealing with Video
The easiest way to get video into your blog is to upload it to your YouTube or Google Video account and follow the instructions:
In both cases, you'll want to follow the 2nd, easier method that is detailed.
