Mississippi Tennis Fun!

Ok, so I know I said that I would put pictures of the whole team in one van, well I didn't have to do that because our coach came up with two vans! I was pretty excited about that one.

Anyway, this weekend was our first match in Mississippi. It was... interesting to say the least. We left Centenary on Thursday night, the girls' team in one van, the guys in the other. It was an uneventful drive. We got there around 10:30 checked into our hotel then just hung out. My roommates were my sister Christine, and my doubles partner Lindsay. We stayed up pretty late watching Dane Cook which is ALWAYS a good time. The next day the tournament didn't start till one, so we got to sleep in a little bit which is good, considering the lack of sleep I usually have. So we go to the tournament and we check out the draws, and it shows that I am playing round robins for both singles and doubles. Usually, this would not be so bad. But nine tennis matches in two days!? That's ALOT of tennis. So we start the tournament, and I won my first singles match, then lost my first doubles match. The rest of the team did awesome as well, only one person lost their singles. So we pack up at about 7 oclock and go home.

The next morning I am ridiculously SORE!! It hurts to move at all! I had not played such long matches in a long time, so i was really looking forward to those next seven tennis matches I was supposed to play! I had my next match, which I won. Then about ten minutes later I had another one, which I lost. This second match was not very fun because I was hurting like crazy and it kept raining on and off, it was horrible! Then when it came time for doubles, my partner was hurt so I played with Courtney instead. We won our first, then lost our second. But we definitely had a good time! So now, I'm thinking I have three more, but I go to look at the draw and they're all crossed out! I was so happy, I didn't really care why! My body was so sore I could hardly walk!

Half of our team packed up and went home, and the other half went with our coach to a college football game in Mississippi. I didn't go because I was so tired and I have a lot of studying to do today for my three tests next week. The van ride home was fun, we stopped at the Louisiana state line and took a picture with the big sign. We got home around 9, and I was definitely out cold at 10 o'clock!

All in all it was a successful tennis weekend. We always have fun as a team, and I'm pretty sure the other schools are jealous because we have a lot of school spirit and awesome nicknames for everyone. (I think we were the loudest team there, in a good way!) I can't wait for the next tournament!
