Tail-Genters and Mardi Gras Experience
The Tail-Genters did not actually have a battle AT Mardi Gras, (it was actually with SGA) but I thought it sounded cool.
It's kind of hard to write a blog after Ms. International over there in Hong Kong!! My blog is not going to be full of crazy cats (well it could be if I talk about my neighbor and his 20 cats) but I hope it will be interesting all the same!
Ok, so remember how I talked about the group we were trying to start with tailgating to get school spirit up? I blogged about it a few months ago. Well anyway, we kind of took a little break after that last tail gate because our pocketbooks were exhausted, but we are ready to go again! Centenary Baseball plays LSU at Fair Grounds Field on March 6th, and the Tailgenters, (that's our new name, get it, a cross between Tailgaters and Gents! Give it awhile, you'll like it eventually and if you don't like it, oh well!) are going to doing Tailgate #2. We got some money from CAB (Centenary's Activity Board) to pay for the food, and SGA gave us some money for 66 free tickets to hand out to students. We were going for 100 free tickets but... well long story short SGA (student government association) was not as supportive as we would have liked them to be, but it's ok, we'll get it going nevertheless. So if you'll be around that day, come out! We're going to have a good time.
This week we have off for Mardi Gras break and it is amazing! The first weekend of break, my friends and I went to the Baseball game against Penn State, which we won, then had a blast hanging out in James Lobby playing Mario Kart. I am SO bad at that game, I never did better than finishing fourth. But I would like to give props to E.J., Shep, and Jeff, who were uber competitive and each finished first about a million times. Somehow we ended up staying in the dorms till 4 a.m., then finally went to my apartment to go to bed. Saturday we woke up and I packed, then we went to the baseball game against Kansas State, which we lost by one. After that, Shep, Aimee and I caravaned to Lafayette for my first Mardi Gras experience. So Sunday morning we woke up and drove to Alexandria to hang out, cook out and wait for the parade. Finally we went to the parade and I had a blast!! I had never been before so it was all new to me. That lasted about an hour, then we went back to Lafayette a little while later. Monday morning I drove home to F-Wood to see my family.

Hungry?

Shep's brother felt the need to use my hood to hold his stuff

This is the necklace that was viciously stolen from me by her, I don't know how I managed to smile for this picture.

I'm ending my break a few days early so I can go back to Shreveport and get some of my service learning at Sci-port done while I don't have any classes, practice, or work to go to. I strongly recommend doing Service Learning at Sci-port. It's a blast hanging out at the museum and helping the people with the exhibits. My first day I got to work in the IMAX and watch two movies at the same time!
Alright Kiddo's hope I kept your interest even though I did not have monkeys in my blog :)
Amor,
Jenn
