Closing Time
(Bonus Points: Who sings that song?)
I feel like every time I don't blog for about a week that I have so much to say!! So i'll try not to turn this blog into a novel.
Tennis is over! Kind of.. We had our last conference match in Detroit this past weekend, (I played bad.), and then we had one the weekend before Easter in Kansas City. I'm going to put some pictures up from that trip because that city is so beautiful! I have never played on tennis courts in the middle of a city! Amazing experience! We have a match this afternoon against LA Tech but then I'm for real done! It's bittersweet really. I'm glad to be done so I can focus on finals and making sure my GPA doesn't plummet, but at the same time I'm extremely sad because my sister and I will never be on the same team again! She is graduating in May and getting married in July. Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy for her, but I can't help it that I'm sad! We have been on the same teams for practically every sport since we were little kids all the way through high school, then she was only at school a year and a half before I came to Centenary and we have been roommates/team mates ever since! Basically, next year is going to be different not having her around, and I'll miss her alot. I love you Christine!
Anyway, some interesting things have been happening around Centenary as my junior year comes to a close. I won SGA senator along with James King, Amanda Russell, Helen Feild, Marcus Jauregui. Congrats guys! I'm really looking forward to being apart of the Student Government Association. Also, there has been much talk about changing our mascot or at least getting some figure to represent the "Lady and Gent." There have been a few forums about it. From what I have heard, we are pretty divided on wanting to change and not wanting to change, so we'll see what happens. (For the record I don't want it to change.) I also just recently became a part of the SAAC and I get to go to a teleconference and I'm SO excited about that!!
PBL is doing Walk America, which is on April 28th 8 a.m. at the Boardwalk. Walk America is sponsored by the March of Dimes to raise money and awareness to prevent premature births. So if you want to donate or walk, this is the website for my page. www.walkamerica.org/jmajchro. It's a great cause and supposed to be a lot of fun so if anyone is at all interested, I urge you to come out and support.
That's about it for now, it's almost prep week/finals time so I'm sure my next blog will be really sad because people are graduating and leaving me behind!!
No longer a teenager as of 4/19,
Jenn
Where we played tennis in Kansas City, that bell tower played two minutes of music every hour. It was beautiful!
