That’s your phrase for the week. Wicked awesome.
This week has been maddening, but right now I’m smooth with it. That’s where the phrase fits in.
Right now I’m sitting in the SUB pondering whether or not to get some coffee. Oh yes, that’s me. I’m adddddddddicted to coffee. I even have a sticker on my car that reads: “Give me coffee and nobody gets hurt!.” It’s pretty bad. That’s one of the reasons I work at Starbucks here in town. We have two, one that’s about five minutes away and another that I haven’t found yet.
I started working this week on Tuesday at five in the morning. Yes, I do not lie, I woke up at 4 a.m. for it. So I work, I take photos for the yearbook (haven’t started yet), and I’m a DJ for the radio station on campus KSCL. I love my DJ job. I get to play anything I want, which is usually pretty obscure stuff, but I mix it up with my random interjections about the planets or funky news. I’ve only had one show so far, but I can tell that I’ll like it. This week has also been rush week.

RUSH, Rush, and rush. That’s all I’ve been hearing, well, for about a year now, really. But this past couple of weeks, everyone has been signing up. There are four fraternities to chose from: Tau Kappa Epsilon, Theta Chi, Kappa Sigma, and Kappa Alpha. My two favorites are probably TKE and Theta Chi, but not necessarily in that order.

I know some people in each, so it's a tough decision. On Wednesday we had our first part of Rush. We did “smokers” which is when we go to each fraternity house for 45 minutes and the houses present themselves to us. We don’t have a chance to see much, but it’s a good time and there’s a lot of free food. My first night was at the TKE house and then to Kappa Sigma. The next night was Theta Chi and Kappa Alpha. After visiting Kappa Alpha I had to fill out a card picking two of the four houses at which to “pref.” “Preffing” is all about partying with the house for four hours. I obviously picked Theta Chi and TKE, but I didn’t go to either party, b/c I dropped out of rush. Yep, so it was a nice experience, however, I just didn’t have enough time to really see each house.
