Tonight’s Low = 38 Degrees
Okay, so I promised a recap of my weekend. Well… Like I said, I worked on Friday night. Until eleven thirty. Then to Graveyard (the big TKE Halloween party). I stayed maybe half an hour. DPS was outside making sure everyone was being decent and not illegally drunk. We’re supposed to dress up for Graveyard. I went as a Hogwarts student. Glasses. White shirt. Slytherin tie. Khakis. Cloak. Wand (a chopstick). Too many people were plastered, so I didn’t stay long.
On Saturday I –ugh didn’t go to Heaven and Hell. I wasn’t really in the mood for a college party, so I just opted out. That day, however, I got the ball rolling on another thing.
Dan brought be some new recycling containers for Cline. The Centenary Environment Association has a recycling program for the school. It’s nice. I mean I’ll be the first to say that I don’t recycle everything and I’m bad about wasting things (like light & water) but at least we’re doing something. I’m really excited about it. We have a big container behind James. Some people have recycling bins in their rooms. They bring their collection of different recyclables to the first floor and sort things out in larger containers. Then the CEA empties those bins into the big container behind James. I’m in charge of these containers in Cline, but until now there has always been a lot of non-recyclable matter in them. I found some toast and melted cheese in one last week. The new containers have lids, hopefully, making it more difficult to contaminate.
Oh, and I meant to talk about the Gunshy and Andrew Bryant show. I didn’t go. I did my radio show instead. It’s nice to just mellow out to music in the booth sometimes. The feedback from the show wasn’t super, but it was a nice break from the repetition of the week. Allison and I did, however, interview the Gunshy guy and Andrew Bryant. That was cool, kind of awkward, but cool. It didn’t roll as smoothly as the Jason Anderson interview, but that’s life. The funny thing was that the Gunshy cussed on air. We have a list of words that we’re not allowed to say or play on the air and he used one of them. Three times. I think it’s ludicrous what’s censored, but I still pay taxes for some reason. Sometimes I think that I’ll just run to France like Nina Simone. She did that after the IRS came knocking on her door asking for back taxes. She didn’t pay a dime during the Vietnam War as a protest.
Tonight was long. I went to the Initiation of Sarah (ABC family movie filmed at Centenary). Then to Randle’s where I have no more money. I got $250 at the beginning of the semester, but I’ve spent it all. All of it. I can’t buy anything else. So I borrowed Dan’s card. Shhhh, Don’t tell the Randle’s ladies. Coffee. Then to the Smashing Pumpkins (program). Then after pretending to study with AJ, we decided to go upstairs and just be in the cold. Being out that late only brought up one idea. And no, it wasn’t streaking.
After joining us, Meagan, Ben, Arthur, Cleveland, AJ, and myself decided to go to Joe’s Grill across the street. We drank coffee. Wrote Poetry. The night lasted. And Lasted.
Like a never-
Ending movie.
Just playing
The soundtrack
With the tempo rolling.
