"100 H.K.Dees Baby!"...a phrase for those of us rollin' in the dough.

So, "100 H.K.Dees" is one hundred Hong Kong Dollars, which is approximately $12 U.S. I have taken to using the phrase to convey my current economic status. I try and forget the fact that I have to budget, by making it sound like I have big bucks. In actuality, studying abroad can literally eat your money and I am learning that the budget can be your best friend.

Anyway, so money, and school work. If I charted them on a line graph in relation to X and Y, over time and space (since I do that type of thing regularly and all.) I'm pretty sure that school work would increase in direct proportion to the amount that money decreases. This would leave me amongst the variables at the point of intersection...pretty darn frazzled.

Just an example of the week ahead.

1.) Final project on the fight for Taiwan's seat in the United Nations.
2.) Final Project on Western and Eastern cultural intersection in Hong Kong Tourism.
3.) 10 page paper on cultural interchange in China and the West during emerging globalization.
4.) Expose on Nietzsche's "The Birth of Man from The Spirit of Music."
5.) Putongua (Chinese) written and oral exams.
6.) A test on Modern East Asia.
7.) Written expose on current news in Korean, Japan and China.
8.) A paper on "The Exposition of the Question of The Meaning of Being."
9.) Interviews at local international schools for my senior seminar project and as part of my Gilman and Freeman-Asia scholarship requirements.

...and that's BEFORE finals week. Luckily I'm really into the things I'm learning so it's less painful.

Despite this I managed to have a bit of fun this weekend. :P

I went to the Lingnan Dance troop's annual performance/competition.

The Panultimate Tourist Picture!!!

Saturday, Kong invited some of us over for some good times in the hostels. I had a BLAST. It was so much fun to hang out with local students and exchange students from Sri Lanka, France, Mexico, China, America and Canada.

My friend Lindsey from America tried to teach Azmat from Sri Lanka, and Kong from Hong Kong, Micheal Jackson's thriller. It was soooo funny!

You have to check out the link here:

Mindy Makes a Ridiculous Fool of Her Self and Almost Gets a Concussion.

and...

Second time..Not so Much.

Kong and Azmat were HILARIOUS!

In the end, the numbers dwindled and we started talking about N.G.O's and politics. There were so many different viewpoints brought to the table. Ahzmat discussed the civil war in Sri Lanka. Oscar talked about governmental corruption and the shoe making business in Mexico. Mike talked about the hardships of transitioning to life from mainland China to Hong Kong. We seriously shared our hopes, fears and dreams late into the night. It was one of my favorite study abroad times.

Which Brings me to today...

I was just in the library "trying" to study but Kong came in with Kinder Easter Eggs! The ones with the toy inside. Needless to say, I wasn't getting much done after that. We stayed in the Library till midnight trying to put the stupid toys together.

Fun!

I have a bunch of trips around Hong Kong planned for after finals and throughout June. I hope you stay with me that long! I will be staying until the end of June and then I get to travel around South East Asia. Also, Dragon Boat Competition and Hiking trips are coming up soon! The hiking here is amazing and I cant wait till I have more time to explore the outdoors. I now must become a slave to the books.

Also I would love any emails and feedback, it keeps me motivated to write.
