Busy days go by fast...

So…life has a weird way of getting really busy, really fast sometimes. However, this is not always a bad thing.

Highlights of fraternity life: We successfully concluded rush, and now have six new members! These guys are all pretty cool, so if you haven't met them yet, you should.

We went bowling for Bid Day, which turned out to be a lot of fun, despite the fact that none of us really bowl. We also did Big Brother Ceremony just last Sunday, and I now have a new little Brother! It’s fun stuff. Matt Blanchard is the man. We’re on SGA together and it’s a lot of fun. He is also looks like my own Big Brother, Brett Martin. It’s kind of uncanny, really.

Speaking of SGA, we just had our fall retreat last Saturday. We went over to Broadmoor Baptist Church, and spent the day doing all sorts of fun activities. We got to spend some time getting to know the people that we will work with for the rest of the year. It wasn’t all fun and games though, we did manage to set up our goals for the semester and year, talked about serious issues like budgeting our money wisely and we discussed the feedback we got back from the Put Up or Shut Up campaign. Thanks to all who voiced your concerns! We will do our best to work on them.

I would not be able to sleep well at night later if I forgot to mention how CAB has been doing an awesome job this year. Comedian Peter Lee made a visit to campus, and his show was the definition of hilarious. I had so much fun it’s not even funny. By the way, you look fat when you cry :).

I'm pretty sure religious affiliation is not presented on the blog profile, so for those of you who don't know, I'm Roman Catholic and proud of it. I've been Catholic all of my life and it has always been something I enjoyed. That's why I joined the Catholic Student Organization (CSO for short. We have Mass every Tuesday at 6:00 pm in Small Chapel, in case you're interested in joining us for that). CSO has been really amazing this year. I have made several new friends and brought old friendships to new levels through it. Not to mention that I've been able to maintain my religious traditions while I'm away from my hometown church, without even having to leave campus. This is kind of a big deal for me, seeing how I come from a very religious family. We are making T-shirts soon, so that'll be good. We're also having a retreat this weekend and I have been looking forward to that all week. It should be a lot of fun.

On a more personal side note, my girlfriend and I will have been dating for 15 months as of tomorrow. If this does not seem like an accomplishment, let me assure you that it is. Long distance relationships are not easy, but my girlfriend is fantastic, so we've made it work. I get to see her next week during fall break, so I'm excited about that. It'll be fun. Anyway, happy 15 months amor!

My eyes are closed, but she looks cute, so it's ok.

That’s pretty much it on my side. Schoolwork is always intense but that’s ok. You can pretty much expect a heavy workload when you're in college. Speaking of workloads, I still have some homework to finish before I go out with my Brothers tonight. We're going out to the Real Pickle to get some food and chill. It will be awesome. And tasty.

Later,
Marco
