Last Saturday
Sorry that it is taken me a week to post this, but I have had one of those weeks where you get slammed with tests. I had three tests this week so needless to say I have had to put a lot of study hours in. Come to think of it, last night was the first night I didn’t have to study all week. Thursday after my last test I was so relieved.
Back to last Saturday; I woke up and went to Strawn’s (one of the best breakfast places ever!) with some of the guys on the team. We had practice before the intersquad meet in which all the parents and a bunch of my friends were there. It was a great meet. The teams were split up very equally but in the end the White team won. I was on the white team so we had to rub it in our opposing team’s face that we won. I swam mostly events that I usually don’t swim because it was just for fun. I did swim the 200 free which is one of my events that I usually swim and I got 2nd place. Side note: at the meet, we got our shoes from Adidas (we are sponsored by them)- that was pretty sweet. After the meet was over, Adam’s dad cooked up a ton of jambalaya that was absolutely amazing.

My parents, my sister, and my grandparents all came down for the meet so that was nice. We said our good byes and they headed back to Flower Mound.

This is my grandparents, sister, Alana who is on the team, her brother, and their grandma
Next on the list to do for the day was the Student Athletic Advisory Committee party which was going to start at 7pm. At about 5:30 Dustin, Vlad, and myself went over to the baseball fields to fill up water balloons for the fight that would take place after dinner. Well about 6:30 the storms start rolling through and we had to go to the Gold dome because it was unsafe to stay out there. The volleyball girls were playing a match so since the party was no longer happening, the majority of the athletes were at the game which is great for them. The sad thing is that after the game a lot of people left and we still hadn’t served the food yet. After waiting for a while I gathered up 10 guys and headed over to the baseball fields to help bring the food over so at least we could all eat. The food was covered by the batting cages so it wasn’t wet. By the time we were done half of the teams had left so I was pretty bummed out about the event because we had some fun stuff planed and I wanted to address all of the student athletes about some things we wanted to try to implement this year.
To salvage the night, I got the water balloons that we filled up and my roomies - dustin and bobby - and I sat up on the third floor of the dorms and threw them at our buddies walking by.
PS: Mother Nature is not on my good side right now!
I’m out
