Fall Break
For fall break our coach let us go home, so I got to go back to Flower Mound. Classes ended on Wednesday so I headed home after Rebekah got out of class. In the car with us was Kendra who is one of the girls on the team. She was flying out of Dallas the next day to go home to Florida. Also with us, was Jessica who lives in my neighborhood so we carpooled there.

The next morning I went to the doctor because I wasn’t feeling well and it turned out that I had strep throat. I had to get a shot which was not fun at all. The doctor told me that I had to take it easy for a couple of days which meant I couldn’t swim over the break which was not good. All day I just relaxed and Rebekah took care of me because my family all had work. My sister was on the radio Thursday night for the featured high school game. She is the captain of the cheerleading squad at Flower Mound High School. Therefore she and a couple of the girls on the squad were also on.
Friday was so much fun. Flower Mound was playing its cross-town rival Marcus High for the battle of the mound. The stadiums that Flower Mound and Marcus play at sell out so they play this annual game at Texas stadium where the Cowboys play. For the game we went early and tailgated with my family and other family friends. Dustin and Randy from the team came with us also. My mom had been cooking the brisket for two days, it was amazing! The Browns, Jessica’s parents brought fried chicken and salad, we had a huge spread.
During the game Marcus had seven turnovers, it was awesome. Flower Mound ended up winning in the game that they were the “underdogs.” By underdogs, I mean they were not supposed to win. Flower Mound has won the Mound Showdown four years in a row. The first time we won was my senior year in high school and they haven’t lost one since.
On Saturday we just hung out ran some errands and watched college football. Rebekah’s b-day was Oct 7, so my mom wanted to celebrate for her when she got there. We went to Bennigans and they made her get up on the booth and dance. It was really funny. Sunday we headed back to school.
