When My Family Came In
First I want to say that I had this written like a week ago, but I was waiting for my fellow bloggers to write!
My family came up early on Friday for the meet that we were having on Saturday. On Friday after practice my family arrived, and we decided to go to Macaroni Grill. I could get some carbs before the meet, and my family loves Italian food so it sounded like a good idea. Dinner was so much fun; we could not go two minutes with out cracking up laughing. I was trying to tell stories from the year so far and I couldn’t even get half way through without everyone busting out jokes or something else. My dad and I would make fun of my sis and my mom because they are exactly a like. My girlfriend came with us to eat, and she has got to think my family is so looney. She has no clue what the Gilberts are really like ha ha. I wouldn’t have it any other way though.
After dinner, my mom wanted to go down to the boardwalk because she had never been. The first stop was the dress barn in which my mom bought some snowmen socks for my gf because it was so cold outside. While we were in line checking out, my sis decided it would be funny to spray me with the girls perfume which was not so fun because I smelled like a chick all night. (I’m still mad sis) The next stop was this bed linen place that my mom wanted me to go jump on a bed in there. She kept asking the lady if we could test out the bed and she kept telling us no. So my mom kept asking questions to try and distract the lady so I could jump on the bed but it didn’t work, that lady was good. The final stop at the board walk was Wilson leather because my mom wants to get me a leather jacket. I tried on so many jackets I don’t remember what any of them really looked like.
We came back to campus, and then my sis stayed with my gf and my folks went back to the hotel. I took my sis down to the SIG fraternity house for the Halloween party but we didn’t stay to long because I had a meet the next day. Saturday we had a practice before the meet, and then we had time to go get some food. We met my parents at Strawn’s for breakfast and then headed over to the meet. After the meet was over my family hung around for Kiddie Mia’s and then they headed home.
It was a great weekend for all.
On a side note, I am sitting outside typing this on my laptop and the weather is amazing!
