St. Louis Trip
Our Christmas break began with a trip to St Louis for a swim meet. Before we went we had to stay at a hotel locally because they shut down the residences halls before we left. We stayed at the Clarion, which isn’t bad, but I would have preferred to stay in our room at school.
During the weekend we just hung out, swam, and goofed off. We left for Memphis where we would stop for the night. Once we reached Memphis, we did a little swim, ate and then went back to the hotel. We swam at this prep school, which had a great facility (a 50 meter pool). We then woke up and left for St. Louis the next morning. We stopped probably fifteen miles out and ate a late lunch. The meet began at 6, so we were there early to warm up and stretch for a good while. The first night’s meet started off great for the Gents. We won the first three events and rolled from there. We defeated St. Louis University, Valparaiso University, and IUPUI. We were very excited because all the teams were good, and two were in our conference. The second day we did very well, but we got beat by St. Louis. We did beat the other two schools though. The scores included diving, so we beat them in the swimming aspect, but since we don’t have any divers, St. Louis was able to beat us overall. On a side note, both hotels we stayed at were really nice. They had really nice mattresses and getting some sleep was awesome since I had got none from the week before due to finals.

The bus ride back was long because we did it straight. I forget how long it took but it was not fun. I finished a book that I was reading called the Lion’s Game, which is an awesome book about a terrorist and a group chasing after him through the country. We arrived in Shreveport late that same night, and we stayed in a hotel. Then we woke up and my roommate drove us back to Dallas, because I kept my car in Shreveport (because I went to see Rebekah for New Years).

Have a good one.
