New York...New York

Hope you guys survived without our blogs this past week and hope your Thanksgivings were as fabulous as mine. As I said earlier, a group of us went as "college counselors" (read: we're too old but want to go anyways) on the Asbury UMC High School Youth trip to New York City. We had an absolute blast. It was basically a two week vacation crammed into 3.5 days. Example day: Central Park, Museum of Modern Art, MTV studios, the matinee of "Wicked", Top of the Rock observatory, ice skating at the Rockefeller Center, and Times Square. One day! It was insane.

My little and I in Times Square, acting like our usual ridiculous selves.

fabulous

Marissa (a fellow Cen-10-arian) and I pretending to be famous on TRL (that's the stairs stars enter through for anyone who actually watches MTV).

Y'all are going to laugh but I have to tell you about the coolest part of the trip. We did all these awesome things but we all agreed this was the best. The Charmin Experience. Yes, like the toilet paper. It was Charmin's gift to NYC and it was only there from November 20 - December 31. Okay you walk in and all of the employees are in letter jackets emblazoned with C for Charmin. Everything is blue and white and decorated with the Charmin bear. It was seriously like one big party. A four minute Charmin song and dance (yes, we did the full performance on the Charmin stage), couches, photo ops, a big nose with Charmin Kleenex underneath...crazy. There were twenty bathrooms and when you walked up they went crazy. "Let's see...17! Come on down to number 17!" and start cheering. When you walked out, an employee would rush in after you saying things like "Alright going to clean 17!" then exit (sometimes with a fist in the air) shouting "17 ready!" I know it's hard to describe but it was honestly the most surreal experience ever.

These next few weeks will be crazy. 10 days of class left and I'm behind on work because I was gone over break. Wish me luck!
