Hey JC JC - You're Alright by Me

Guys, all I can say is - it's Holy Week, so please please forgive me for not blogging. Honestly nothing besides tests, papers, and homework have been happening lately and I did not think you would want to hear about all of that because you have your own. So anyhow here is what has been going on:

Three words: Jesus Christ Superstar. We had to watch it for my New Testament class. If you have never seen it...well, it is quite an experience. A Rock Opera about the Passion story. It definitely is funnier at certain times. Ten AM on a Saturday? Not so much. Eleven PM on a Thursday or Friday when you are tired? Hilarious. The title is from the song "Hosanna" where basically a bunch of hippies carry Surfer Jesus through the streets singing "hosanna hey sanna sanna sanna hosanna." Crazy, I know.

The next thing was a film critique for the (in)famous David Otto. We had to take any movie we wanted and analyze it for religious themes. I picked Simon Birch and compared him to Christ. Some other choices were Dogma, Castaway, and The Gangs of New York. We were up late finishing those on Thursday and were all a little delirious. At the time, it made great sense to take pictures, so this part is actually documented.

It excites Marissa that she is in the blog more than anyone else but that is because we are together so much and I love her. Oddly enough I do not think Kirsten has made it until now but I love her as well.

Marco showed up with a random flower, which of course seemed as good a time as any to take a picture. :)

Friday night Zach and I hung out with our friends Blake and Courtney. Courtney fried shrimp and hushpuppies which was amazing and then we played Taboo. I absolutely adore Taboo and it is a whole lot crazier when you are on teams with people you know really well. All of our clues were like "well we talked about it yesterday" and "people think your dad looks like this guy, well okay not him but the same last name and he is older" (Tim Allen but actually Woody Allen). It was so funny.

I was banned from the area surrounding the frying pan because a few weeks ago I 3rd-degree burned myself blackening catfish. I still have what looks like cigarette burns up and down my arm. Anyways, that is why the picture angle is so goofy.

Like I have said before, I am not competive at all but Blake and Zach really are, so the games intensified towards the end.

Saturday night was girls' night so that was a ton of fun as always. We went to dinner and then hung out at the dorms for a while. I was completely unproductive all weekend as far as school goes but it is okay. Below is Jenny and I, with the most awkward smiles ever but it makes me laugh so that's why I am posting it.
