Another Opening of Another Show

...and by that I mean a new semester. In order to keep up with this trend that Rachel mentioned in her last blog, I've decided to use this somewhat famous song. If you, fellow blog-readers, know what it is and where it's from, horray, maybe we can be friends. If, that is, you decided to click on the link that says "Comments?".

So anyway, sorry I haven’t blogged in a while-my schedule this semester is quite busy. Free time is hard to come by these days, which is not the best thing since I want to practice my music a lot more and have more time to compose. It’s not too bad, though, because most of my day is comprised of music classes. I’ve also been working on a new composition for voice and piano which will be premiered tomorrow for Recital Hour (I mentioned Recital Hour in another blog, but never really explained what it is. Recital Hour is a time when all music majors and faculty meet and listen to other students perform). This new piece is a sort of blues-y Christmas song for which I will be playing piano and another student, Lindsey Hotaling, will be singing. I hope it is as well liked as my last piece.

Being a member of the Centenary Choir is also a new thing for me this semester. I know my stay here at Centenary hasn’t been very long, but I’m convinced that the Choir is one of the friendliest, most social environments at school. Tonight the Choir was asked to sing the national anthem at a hockey game. Not the most exciting “gig,” but it was a lot of fun just hanging out with the other members. It was my very first Choir “tour” and also, my very first hockey game, which in my opinion is not as exciting as soccer.

There is one sad thing about this new semester. One of my friends, Katie Merrell, transferred to another school. So from all of us here at Centenary, we miss you, Katie!
