Dr. Richard Lyman Bushman
April 1-6, 2008, Attaway Fellows of Centenary College of Louisiana, the Christian Leadership Center and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints host Dr. Richard Lyman Bushman for a series of lectures and seminars encouraging dialogue between the Mormon Church and the larger Christian community.

Hunter Visiting Professor of Mormon Studies at Claremont Graduate University for 2007-2008, where he will play a key role in establishing the first permanent, graduate-level study of Mormonism at a secular university. “We consider him to be the single most widely known and highly regarded historian of Mormonism,” said Karen Torjesen, dean of the Claremont School of Religion. “Here, we are committed to studying the full breadth of religious experience. With his broad background in American cultural and religious history, Professor Bushman will make a vitally important contribution to our mission.”

Entrepreneurial Ministries with Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell
Wednesday, April 16, 2008, join friends and supporters of the Christian Leadership Center at Broadmoor UMC, Shreveport for lunch and an inspiring word from Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell, pastor of Windsor Village UMC in Houston, TX. An Entrepreneurial Church is a church that organizes or manages any enterprise usually with considerable initiative and risk. Pastor Caldwell’s church Windsor Village has created several not-for-profit corporations to address community needs; including the creation of a 450-home housing development with a commercial tract located within close proximity to support the community’s grocery and service needs.
Always exciting and visionary, Pastor Caldwell will help us all engage the calling God has for us as part of God's kingdom.
