Having His Poetry Featured in Poetry Daily

Poetry Daily, will feature a poem of Centenary English professor Dr. David Havird's on Tuesday, Aug. 14. The poem, "The Horse on Zennor Hill," is one of two Havird poems appearing in the summer 2007 issue of The Sewanee Review. The poem tells about a pilgrimage to Cornwall that Dr. Havird made while directing an independent May Module in 2002, and it commemorates a favorite poet of his, W. S. Graham, who lived nearby.
"We're beaming," The Sewanee Review writes about the selection.
The other poem in the summer Sewanee Review, "From Whitehall to Greenwich," tells about an excursion designed by English professor Dr. Steve Shelburne for the May Module that he and Havird co-directed four years ago. (8/8/07)
