Giving Opportunities

Centenary’s friends and alumni ensure the continued success of the College by giving to the annual fund, scholarships, and other designated funds on campus. Read about some of the ways you can support Centenary:

The Centenary Annual Fund

This fund bridges the gap between the annual operating budget and revenues provided by the endowment and tuition by supporting the Great Teachers and Scholars Fund and the Student Annual Scholarship Fund, the two primary components of the Annual Fund. Donations to these unrestricted and restricted funds are added to the operating fund of the College’s budget to meet current operational expenses, provide faculty and academic enrichment, enhance programs and services offered to students, and support annual student scholarships. Simply, gifts to the Annual Fund is one of the best ways possible for alumni, parents, parents of alumni, grandparents and friends help to make a difference in the future of Centenary College. .

Paving the Way

Interested in being a part of this exciting project? You can purchase a brick or paver in the walkway or the circular border surrounding the Leadership Fountain and become a part of a permanent testament of the support of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the Centenary College Community. The plan is to create four walkways, which will lead to a fountain to be constructed in honor of Centenary's leaders. This opportunity also provides a way of supporting Centenary's current students through the Campaign for Scholarships. At least half of every donation will go directly into the scholarship fund with the remainder going to the fountain fund/paver project. Whereas the actual construction of the walkways and fountain will not begin immediately, contributions to the scholarship fund will immediately help meet the needs of deserving students.

Honorary & Memorial Gifts

An honorary or memorial gift to Centenary is a special way to recognize a current or former professor, classmate, friend, or relative. Please designate if your gift is In Memory Of or In Honor Of someone special. The Development staff will be pleased to inform them or their family of your thoughtfulness.

Double Your Dollars (or more!) : Matching Gifts

What a wonderful way for your gift to grow! Your current employer may double – or even triple – the dollars you give to Centenary. If you are a current employee, retired, or the spouse or widow(er) of an employee, or a member of the Board of Directors of a matching gift company, your donation may be eligible!

First, determine if your employer is a matching gift company. Not sure? Contact your human resources director or call Centenary at 1-800-259-6447.

Next, obtain a matching gift form from your employer, fill it out and enclose it with your gift. If the gift has already been made, complete and send the form to Centenary.

Finally, accept our sincere thanks! Your gift may be doubled, or even tripled, by your company.

Annual Muses Book Bazaar

We are making plans for the 2007 Book Bazaar with our sponsors, the Muses of Centenary College. This year’s event will be held Friday and Saturday, September 7th and 8th, in the Gold Dome, and we hope you’ll stop by. Book prices start at just 25 cents! We can also use your donation of used books. If you have books that you would like to donate, you can drop them in the blue bins located at Centenary Square across the street from George’s Grill on Kings Highway. For more information, call 318.219.3409 or 318.869.5136.

Phonathon

We’ll also be continuing the phonathon this coming Fall and Spring. The phonathon had its most successful drive last year, with over $100,000 pledged by alumni, parents, and friends in 2007. The phonathon is operated by students and supports Centenary’s Annual Fund, which is the financial backbone of the College. If you receive a call, please consider supporting Centenary, and don’t forget to send in your gift as soon as possible. If you would rather be contacted via email, please click here.

Remember, however, that you don’t have to wait until you’re contacted to donate to Centenary. Simply email us at and tell us your name, address, and how much you would like to donate, and we’ll send you an invoice in the mail. Or make a contribution online TODAY! Every gift, no matter the amount, helps make Centenary a little stronger.
