Establishing A Scholarship
Listed below are the different types of scholarship funds available to donors at Centenary College of Louisiana:
Named Annual Scholarships
Named Annual Scholarships are created when a donor gives a gift of $1,000 or more. These gifts enable the donor to respond immediately to areas of compelling need. The College works with the donor to establish specific criteria for annual scholarship gifts. This type of scholarship is listed annually in the Centenary College Catalogue for as long as the donor supports the scholarship. The donor is also invited to the annual Legacy Luncheon, where scholarship donors meet and visit with their scholarship recipients.Centenary College Endowed* Scholarship Fund gifts perpetuate the donor’s support of Centenary College. All donations to this fund are included in a pooled endowed account. Centenary College discourages specific criteria for this type of endowed gift.
Named Endowed* Scholarships
Named Endowed* Scholarships are created when a donor gives a gift of $20,000 or more. This fund yields an amount annually, in perpetuity, to fund a partial or full scholarship, either need-based or merit-based. The College works with the donor to establish specific criteria for named endowed scholarship gifts. This type of scholarship is listed annually in the Centenary College Catalogue and the donor is invited to the annual Legacy Luncheon.
* With endowed gifts, the gift funds are held intact, while appreciation and income from the investment of the gifts provide permanent support for a College program.
