English Requirements
The English major is designed to help students arrange their knowledge of literature within critical, cultural, and historical contexts. In close consultation with advisors, students who major in English select from course options under the following categories:
- Literary methodology
- Major authors
- Genre studies
- Period studies
- Other literary traditions
- Literature and related arts
Students may also elect to minor in English or to pursue English with an Emphasis on Communication. Numerous English courses provide popular options for satisfying College core requirements.
