Federal Subsidized/Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
Loan Application
Once the student accepts the student loan on the award letter, a Master Promissory Note (MPN) is sent to new borrowers. (Old borrowers do not have to sign a new MPN) The student is directed to return the MPN to the FAO or inform the FAO that the MPN was signed electronically.
Certification Procedures
The Assistant Director checks the awarded/accepted amount and transmits via WHIZKID software to the guarantor. The award letter is used as notification of the approved amount to the student.
Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students
Loan Application
The parent signs a PLUS Authorization Letter which indicates the amount the parent wishes to borrow, completes the Parent MPN and returns both to the FAO.
