Dr. Gloria C. Walker is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Centenary College. Dr. Walker teaches courses in Comparative Politics and International Relations including Political Development, Comparative Democracy and Democratization, Politics of the European Union, International Law and Organizations, U.S. Foreign Policy, International Conflict and Conciliation, and Political Analysis among others. She has taught at Centenary since 2008.
Dr. Walker's research focuses on the ways in which a state's international affiliations and organizational memberships affect its domestic policies. Her dissertation, "Connections Matter: The Domestic Impact of Intergovernmental Organization Membership" analyzes the relationship between intergovernmental organization membership and member state level of democracy, level of human rights abuse, and level of corruption. Dr. Walker's current areas of interest include the European Union, democratic consolidation, political development, and human rights.
