SUMMARY
Coordinates and directs the Sports Information for Centenary College's Division I athletic program
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Writes and distributes news releases to local and national media.
Coordinates and maintains the Athletic Department website and provides timely updates.
Maintains sports statistics and records.
Designs, writes and oversees the production of printed promotional material/ media guides and programs for all sports.
Develops and maintains close contact with local media and those who cover Conference sports, promoting and marketing the Athletic Department.
Manages game-day activities for all sports including press conferences, staffing, stats, set-up and tear-down of press row activities, and media room management.
Responsible for sports broadcasting and communications between the Conference office and the NCAA in all matters involving sports information.
Other related projects, duties and responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary.
As an institutional staff member actively involved with NCAA Division I prospects, student-athletes, and athletic department personnel, you are responsible to uphold all conference and NCAA rules and regulations. In accordance with NCAA bylaw 11.1, you are responsible to report any known violations and will be held accountable for any violations committed within your department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises full time and part time employees and student employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, and/or minimum 3 years experience.
• Must be people-oriented individual, have good communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
• Well organized and self-motivated.
• Computer skills should include word processing, spreadsheets, email, and database applications. Experience with Excel and Access preferred.
• Must be able to fulfill job requirements in a high-
energy, high-traffic area.
