Cell Phone / Beeper Policy
There has been a dramatic rise in the number of cell phone conversations taking place throughout the library so the rules need to be clarified.
As of March 15, 2005, patrons MUST turn their cell phones or beepers to "silence" or "vibrate" (no-ring) when entering the library building. When a cell phone is heard going off, you will be handed a slip. After the third slip, a fine may be levied to your account.
Anyone needing to make or take a call is directed to the library lobby area where quiet conversations may take place with minimal disturbance to others.
Signs conveying this policy will be posted throughout the library.
Library users wishing to report inappropriate cell phone use can contact a library staff member at one of the service desks. The Library reserves the right to ask anyone to leave the library if he/she is using a cell phone or pager in a prohibited area or disturbing others in any area of the library.
