Robin Hill, Katy, Texas, is a teacher. She finished her first half Ironman Sept. 11 in Grand Prairie, Texas. Her husband, Nick Hill ‘02, and 3-year-old daughter, Madeleine, were there to cheer her on.

Ginnie Valentine Locke, Pineville, La., is practicing dentistry in Pineville in a group practice with Dr. Edwin White and Dr. Tom Hathorn. On Dec. 7, 2006, she and husband Jeremy welcomed a baby girl, Emmarie Sue Locke. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19 inches long.

Michael Penn, Shreveport, La., is a sales consultant at Rountree Ford.

Beth Stubblefield, Denver, Colo., is a Ph.D. graduate student (pharmacology/neurophysiology) at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She conducts scientific research on synaptic neurotransmission in the mammalian hippocampus in order to prove her thesis.

Delmire Tillman-Fisher, Houston, Texas, is a secondary teacher. She has completed the certification requirements to become a principal, and she is looking for a position in that area.

Angie Watkins, Shreveport, La., is a teacher at C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport. She teaches American literature and journalism. She is the advisor of the school newspaper, which is currently ranked as the No. 1 school newspaper in Louisiana, and she is also the advisor of the flag line and baton twirling team.

Teresa Aldridge, Bossier City, La., is a physical education teacher at Donnie Bickham Middle School in Caddo Parish.

Evette Barnes, Manhattan, Kansas, has a master’s in health administration from Latrobe University in Melbourne, Australia. She is a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. She and Allen Hill of Powder Springs, Ga. were married on Jan. 13, 2007 at Eglin Air Force Base in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. They are stationed at Ft. Riley.

Laura Walker Bozell, Arlington, Va., still works for Congressman Jim McCrery in Washington, D.C., but has moved from his personal office to the Ways and Means Committee, where she serves as professional staff for the Health Subcommittee. She married David Bozell of Alexandria, Va. on Nov. 12, 2005.

Lisa Carmack, Haughton, La., works with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness as regional coordinator for Region 7. She is also an adjunct instructor at Louisiana State University in Shreveport.

Jamie Hearne, Alexander, Ark., and Matthew Irwin, an electrical engineer, married on Nov. 5, 2006 in Little Rock, Ark. Jamie is in her second year of pediatric residency at the University of Arkansas Center for Medical Sciences/Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Donald Kirkindoll, Lexington, S.C., is the director of music at Ashland United Methodist Church and is taking some time to work before going back to school to get his doctorate in choral conducting.

Kristina Honeycutt Kirkindoll, Lexington, S.C., will finish her master’s in library science at the University of South Carolina in the summer of 2007 then plans to work in a school media center.

Janna Lhotsky, Stafford, VA, is an acute in-patient physical therapist. She works with patients in the hospital setting. She got married in October 2005. Her husband is serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

William McDearmont, Shreveport, La., is the evening director for KTBS-TV Channel 3, Inc. His wife, Jennifer, is a middle school English teacher for the Caddo Parish school system.

Shannon Richardson, Austin, Texas, works for the Austin bureau of People magazine.

Kathryn Shelton-Welch, Long Beach, Calif., passed away quietly in her sleep on June 4, 2006. This was completely unexpected. Her death was due to a heart irregularity, mitral valve prolapse, for which she had been under observation but not treatment. Kathryn had arrived in the Washington, D.C., area on June 3 for a vacation visit and passed away in her parents’ home that night. She was 27 years old and had celebrated her third wedding anniversary only two weeks earlier. Kathryn is survived by her parents and sister, Cragin ’71 and Kay ’72 Shelton and Becky Sue Shelton, and her husband, Christopher Welch.

Michael Tooke, Dallas, Texas, and Matthew Nicholas ‘01, started Switch, an event lighting company that works primarily with Todd Fiscus, one of Dallas’ premiere event planners and designers. Previously, Michael and Matthew worked together at Dallas Theater Center.

2002

Dana Beyert, New York, N.Y. worked on the MTV Video Music Awards show this past summer, and she was even seen briefly on-camera. After Pink won an award, Dana could be seen on television walking backstage. She also worked at the MTV Fashion Rocks Show headlining NYC Fashion Week.

Crystal Carter, Shreveport, La., married Greg Aucoin on Oct. 28, 2006 at Lake Bistineau. Included in the wedding party were fellow alumnae Melissa Duplantis ‘02 and Joanna Tagert ’03.

Brant Dowe, Shreveport, LA., is a registered nurse at Willis-Knighton Pierremont.

Melissa Duplantis, Chicago, Ill., has worked as a behavior therapist with children diagnosed with autism for the last seven years. She graduated with a master’s in clinical psychology from Sam Houston State University in 2005. Her thesis research was presented in the 2006 SWPA conference and is currently being submitted for publication. In the fall of 2006, she started a PsyD program in clinical psychology with a concentration in forensic psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Andrew Farrow, Astoria, N.Y., works in the Design and Engineering Department at Showman Fabricators. Showman is a commercial sceneshop in New York City that builds scenery for television, Broadway and other theatrical and entertainment events. Also, Drew recently received his M.F.A. in technical design and production from the Yale University School of Drama in New Haven, Conn.

Kris Franks, Fort Worth, Texas, has been a German teacher for the Fort Worth Independent School District since August 2006. He is working on an M.A. in German studies through Texas Tech University. He is organizing a summer exchange to Germany for students in his district. About a year ago, he started Franks Financial Consulting and sees clients when he is not teaching or working on his master’s.

Rebecca Soskin, Mountain View, Calif., received the 2006 Aaron Selber, Jr. Leadership Award at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. She was chosen for her outstanding leadership of the LSU School of Medicine’s pediatric interest group and community service program. Rebecca is in a residency training program in pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Christin Lawrence Stoner, Columbia, Mo., is currently working in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit as a registered nurse. She is also applying to a nurse anesthesia school for admission for summer 2008.

Chip LeDuff, Camp Lejeune, N.C., is a U.S. Navy hospital corpsman working at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune. He works in the 2D Marine Division’s Navy Career Counselor’s Office guiding young sailors in the progression of their naval careers. On July 28, 2007, he will be getting married to Christy Melton ‘03 at First United Methodist Church in Shreveport.

Cody McDonald, Fort Worth, Texas, will graduate from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in May 2007. During the American Bar Association Law Student Division Spring Board of Governors meeting in New Orleans on March 2007 he was awarded the ABA/LSD Gold Key, an honor seen as the highest given during single administrations of the Division. He has served as governor of the 13th Circuit.

Kathryn Thompson Applegate, San Diego, Calif., is in her third year of a Ph.D. program at Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, Calif. She studies cytoskeletal interactions in the Laboratory for Computational Cell Biology. Her husband, Brent Allen Applegate, is a Purdue grad in industrial engineering. Brent moved to San Diego several years ago with his job at Hewlett-Packard. They met through their church.

Sharon Basham, Jackson, Tenn., graduated in May from the University of Georgia with a master’s in college student affairs administration. She now works at Lambuth University, a Methodist-affiliated institution, in Jackson, Tenn., as the director of residence life. She is engaged to marry David Komanecky Dec. 30 in New Orleans.

Meredith Foster, Crosby, Texas, is currently working on a master’s in arts administration at the University of Akron. She is also interning with the Akron Symphony Orchestra within the programming and educational department.

Kelsey Bellamy Johnson, College Station, Texas, is the communications specialist for the Center on Disability and Development at Texas A&M University. She maintains the web site and produces brochures, newsletters and other publications.

Ryan Reid, Vivian, La., was invited to work with Danish director Rasmus Malling Skov Jeppesen on a series of short plays called Bagsaedebetragninger (Backseat Observations) at the Aarhus Festival in Denmark. Ranked as one of the greatest festival events in Europe, Aarhus pulls in from all over the world artistic performances in theater, music, dance, opera, sports and children’s entertainment. Ryan has also worked on commercials and the critically acclaimed short film Deliberate.
