Bonnie Harrel Watkins, Shreveport, La. was named the 2006 Samaritan of the Year. This award, given by the Samaritan Counseling Center, a faith-based counseling center, is presented each year “to someone who exemplifies the ideals of Samaritan Ministry by making significant contributions of time, energy, resources and leadership to improve the quality of life in the community.”
