Celebrate Our Centennial in 2008
Centenary College of Louisiana will be a grand 183 years old in 2008 but we will also celebrate a special anniversary—the 100th—of our move to Shreveport-Bossier from Jackson, La. Just after the turn of the century and in the midst of an economic boom in Northwest Louisiana, Centenary opened the doors of Jackson Hall in 1908.
Throughout the area and involving the entire Centenary community wherever in the world they may now be, Centennial organizers are preparing a host of activities for the year-long Centennial Celebration. More details will be in the next Centenary magazine and at http://www.centenary.edu, but mark your calendars now for the gala Founders’ Day and Homecoming Weekend Celebration that will occur on Feb. 21-24, 2008.
In advance of that, we’re also gathering memories and Centenary stories from current times all the way back as far as we can find. You’re invited to send us your Centenary memories and even photos of events both large and small, people you knew, lessons that stayed with you, funny things that happened or comforting words received, professors and friends who formed your own personal Centenary experience.
Send them to the Centennial Advisory Committee in care of the Office of Alumni Relations, Centenary College of Louisiana, 2911 Centenary Blvd., Shreveport, LA 71104, or email email. Just drop us an email, a note or fill out the Centennial .pdf form, we’re flexible. And thanks in advance for your good memories!
