Problem of the Week Rules
- The problem of the week will be posted every Thursday afternoon class is in session with the last problem posted the week before prep week. Solutions will be accepted until 12 noon the following Wednesday.
- For scoring purposes, I will only accept solutions via email from students from their Centenary account (i.e., the From: address should have centenary.edu in it). I will, however, list the names of everyone who submitted a correct solution.
- Each problem will have a score associated with it, with the scores increasing as the semester goes on. Every student who submits a correct answer with explanation will receive that score. In addition, I will award an extra point to the first correct answer and an extra point for the best explanation. The top two points winners will receive something special at the end of the semester.
- We will also record successful problem-solving streaks. After the first contest, I will track the number of consecutive correct answers submitted by each person. The person with the longest streak at the end of the semester will also win a prize.
