Events at Hurley School of Music

Unless otherwise noted, events will take place in the Anderson Auditorium (see campus map) of the Hurley School of Music. Hurley concerts are free and open to the public; however, Rhapsody in View and concerts sponsored by other organizations may charge admission.

Noel Foundation Chamber Series, featuring John-Henry Crawford, cello and members of the Shreveport Symphony. 3:00pm.

Centenary Choral Festival - *4:00pm (THIS IS A REVISED TIME)Brown Chapel. Centenary's Choral Department hosts local high school choirs for rehearsal and critique Feb. 13-14, culminating in a performance Saturday afternoon.

Hayley Cooper, Senior Voice Recital - 7:30pm.


Lagniappe Concert - 8:00pm. Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity hosts this concert showcasing the music and artistic talents of Centenary faculty and staff.

March 8

Shreveport Opera "Singer of the Year" Competition. Preliminary competition is Saturday, March 7, with the final competition on Sunday at 1:00pm.

An Eclectic Requiem - Bach, Beethoven and Brahms - 3:00pm, First United Methodist Church downtown. Combined choirs of Centenary College and FUMC.

Singer's Workshop Showcase - 7:30pm.

Centenary Youth Orchestra Concert featuring rising star, John-Henry Crawford, cello - 3:00pm.

April 5

Centenary Choir Easter Sunrise Service - 6:00AM. Hargrove Memorial Amphitheatre on the Centenary campus.


Centenary Percussion Ensemble Concert - 7:30pm.

April 16-18

"Rags" (Times TBA) Marjorie Lyons Playhouse. Centenary College's combined Theatre and Music departments present this musical story of the plight of Jewish immigrants in New York, attempting to make a life in a Brave New World.

April 20

"An Evening of Song" by Hurley Chair, Dr. Gale Odom, soprano - 7:30pm. Assisted by Gay Grosz, piano, Ruth Drummond, cello, Twyla Robinson, soprano, Dan Santelices, violin and Timothy Wright, Clarinet.


Camerata Concert - 7:30pm.
