SHREVEPORT, LA -- Dr. Robert Panoff, a science educator and computer modeling authority who is executive director of the Shodor Education Foundation, Inc., will present two public lectures Thursday, Oct. 17 at Centenary College.
The lectures, which are free and open to the public, are in conjunction with the college's year-long series of programs which explore the broad topic of "Change."
For the Convocation presentation at 11 a.m. in Kilpatrick Auditorium, Panoff will speak on "The New Collaboratory: How Technology is Changing the Faces and Places of Research and Education."
At 7 p.m. in Room 312 of Mickle Hall, his topic will be "New Vistas in Science: Interactive Learning and Research Environments." The lecture is a part of the Science Division's ongoing Colloquium Series.
Panoff is a resident of Durham, N.C., and holds a Ph.D. in physics.
His visit is sponsored by the Centenary Convocations Committee with assistance from the Associated Colleges of the South/BellSouth "Teaching with Technology" grant program.
