Centenary Earns Four Awards from National Association for Campus Activities

SHREVEPORT, LA — The National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) has honored Centenary College students and staff with four awards.

They are:

  • Regional Council Student Leadership Scholarship to Lacey Millet, a senior from Luther, La.
  • First place in the graphics competition for the Centenary Activities Board (CAB) in the non-poster publicity category for institutions with fewer than 5,000 students
  • The 100 percent Volunteerism Award for having all members of the Centenary delegation performing volunteer service for the NACA conference
  • NACA Central Outstanding New Professional Award to Shannon Delaney, Centenary's director of student involvement

Ms. Millet was chosen to receive the scholarship, valued at $1,025, in recognition of her record of student leadership. She is a biochemistry and neuroscience major, has served as president of CAB and as a Student Government Association senator. She has also been a member of the Orientation Staff, Zeta Tau Alpha, Maroon Jackets, Omicron Delta Kappa, Order of Omega, Alpha Chi and Chemistry Club.

The award was highlighted in the November/December issue of NACA's Programming Magazine.

Ms. Delaney received the Central Region award that recognizes a campus activities professional with fewer than five years of experience who has made significant contributions to his or her campus, to NACA, the profession and the community.

The graphics award was presented for the green Spring Fling 2004 t-shirt developed by CAB.
