Centenary Crew to Host Annual 'Learn to Row Day' Sunday, April 17 at Cross Lake

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary Crew Team is offering a "Learn to Row Day" Sunday, April 17 on Cross Lake to allow Centenary students interested in rowing to get a hands- on experience with the boats and a quick lesson from experienced Crew members.

The event is also an opportunity for parents and Crew supporters to come out and see where team members practice and what they spend much of their time doing.

Activities planned this year include:
* Lunch for those who RSVP by Saturday
* Instruction on how to carry and launch a boat in the water.
* Experience in a row boat with Centenary Crew members

Those who plan to row with the team should bring sunscreen and sturdy shoes that can get dirty. Flip flops are not good for rowing.

Learn to Row Day will begin at Ford Park on Cross Lake on Sunday at 1 p.m. Those who would like to follow a Crew member to the park should meet at 12:30 p.m. behind Hardin Hall.
