Governor Appoints Centenary's Tina Feldt to State Board of Social Work Examiners
SHREVEPORT, LA — Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco has appointed Centenary's Tina Feldt to the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners for a three-year term.
As a board member, she will help to oversee the practice and licensing activities for social workers in the state.
Feldt, director of counseling services at Centenary, earned a B.A. in social welfare from Louisiana Tech University and a master's of social work from Louisiana State University. She also holds the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Board Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (BCSAC) designations and she teaches part-time at Northwestern State University.
She has been was honored as the Social Worker of the Year by the National Assocation of Social Workers, North Louisiana, and has received the Dorothy Schenthal Leadership Award from the Shreveport Region of the NASW.
NASW noted that during the last 20 years, Feldt has been a leader in
developing treatment programs for children and adolescents and has served
in social work leadership positions in the mental health and social work
