Environmental Association To Host Centenary Kilowatt 5K
SHREVEPORT, La— The Environmental Association of Centenary College will host the Centenary Kilowatt 5K Run and Health Walk Saturday, Aug. 29 beginning at the Centenary Gold Dome.
The 3.1-mile run and Health Walk begins at 8 a.m. and includes a post party with free food and fun for all ages.
Race entry forms can be picked up at Sportspectrum in Shreveport or downloaded at http://www.sportspectrumusa.com. The entry fee is $13 by August 22, $15 until August 28 and $20 on race day. All Centenary students pay only $10 with a valid student identification card.
Proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing additional solar panels to be installed on the College campus. This past May, the College installed a 1.51 kilowatt solar array system on the top of the Magale Library that can produce more than 300 kilowatt hours of electricity each month. The system can eventually be expanded to handle up to 11 panels.
