Friends of The Alger Meadows Museum Gala Takes Place Oct. 4
SHREVEPORT, La.-An annual fund raiser and gala benefiting The Friends of The Alger Meadows Museum takes place at Ernest's Orleans Restaurant Sunday, Oct. 4 from 5:30 until 8 p.m. The cost is $60 per person for members and $75 for non-members which includes buffet and cash bar.
The Friends of the Algur Meadows Museum special guests for this year's annual gala are Jolie and Robert Shelton of Lafayette, who have assembled the Martele collection now on view at the Meadows Museum of Art, and John Webster Keffe, Curator for the Decorative Arts at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
The event includes a silent art auction that features the works of Jerry Wray, Clyde Connell and Maria Lopez. The artworks offered for auction are in a variety of media including watercolors, photographs, paintings, drawings and more.
"It is important to celebrate our Louisiana artists and the art auction held annually by the Friends of the Algur Meadows Museum in conjunction with the Gala," said Diane Dufilho, Director of the Meadows Museum at Centenary College. During the gala and silent auction, the competitive bidding is done among fabulous food, great surroundings and engaging company."
The gala takes place at Ernest's Orleans Restaurant, located at 1601 Market St. in Shreveport. Buffet items for the dinner include fruit and cheese, boiled shrimp, marinated crab claws, and mini muffulletas, cubed steak and mushrooms served with the old-Joe steak sauce, fried shrimp with remoulade sauce and fried catfish.
