Preparing for Your Springboard Visit
Springboard for 2008 has passed, but a few items on this page may still be relevant, especially for students who were't able to make Springboard sessions.
Using an access code that you will receive via email, pay your enrollment deposit.
After you've paid the enrollment deposit, you'll be directed to
pay your housing deposit (or supply the off-campus form if it applies)
download, print, complete and mail required forms
pick which Springboard session you wish to attend
Your registration and springboard sessions will go much more smoothly if you have completed required forms before you arrive on campus. (You will have the opportunity to fill out these documents once you arrive on campus, but be aware that you will not be able to complete the registration process until all of your paperwork is complete.)
In any case, you must make your enrollment deposit before you can sign up for a Springboard session.
Consult with your parents about the financial arrangements that you will make while on campus. (Information about payment plans can be found here.)
Familiarize yourself with the information on choosing classes at Centenary. Make a list of courses that interest you. If you already know what you think you want your major to be, go ahead and let us know — it'll help us plan your Springboard experience more effectively.
Make sure you look over our things to bring list so you don't forget to bring something that you'll need.
Arriving on Campus
Check in for Springboard will begin at 8:00 on the first day of each session. Start at the Admissions Office (in the Sam Peters Building). Check the Campus Map for directions.
The official start to the session will be the Welcome at 12:30 pm. Please check in by 11:00.
If you have scheduled to take the foreign language or biology placement exams, you will be escorted to Mickle Hall.
During Springboard, you will have the opportunity to:
- register for Fall 2008 classes.
- meet other incoming students and returning students.
- receive your email address and student ID card assignment.
- complete and submit paperwork for Financial Aid, the Business Office, Health Services, and the Department of Public Safety so that you will be eligible to attend classes in the fall.
- discover opportunities to get involved in extracurricular, leadership, service, religious and other activities on campus.
- meet Centenary faculty and staff members.
- take optional placement tests in French, Latin, Spanish, and Biology.
- ask any remaining questions about classes, majors, college life, and everything Centenary.
