Mission Statement
The mission of the Parents Council of Centenary College of Louisiana is to promote Centenary College of Louisiana (the “College”) – its educational mission, faculty, staff, and students. The Parents Council will assist the College in creating the best learning environment possible that will enable each student to reach his or her full potential; increase awareness of the College; recruit prospective students; participate in fundraising activities; and provide the College with constructive feedback.
Any father, mother, or guardian of a student currently enrolled at the College is automatically a member of the Parents Council. Membership ceases once the student is no longer enrolled at the College.
The Parents Council will meet annually during Parents and Family Weekend. Other meetings will be scheduled as needed.
The officer(s) of the Parents Council will include co-chairs – two parents who are appointed by the College's President to serve together, or a chair – an individual parent who is appointed by the College's President. The officer(s) will serve for one year or until successors have been appointed.
A staff member from the College’s Office of Development shall serve as the College’s liaison between the Parents Council and the College.
Amendments to this Mission Statement may be made at any meeting of the Parents Council by simple majority vote of all members present at that meeting.
Last revised July 2006.
