Parents and Family Weekend

Parents & Family Weekend will take place the same weekend as Homecoming - October 28-30, 2016. This annual event gives parents and families of Centenary students a chance to visit campus and get a feel for Centenary life during the academic semester. Leuck Endowment Agreement Signing Ceremony
Hardy Hall of Fame Room, Bynum Commons
Join former students of Ed & Beth Leuck for the formal signing ceremony of the Ed & Beth Leuck Endowed Scholarship that was established by a generous group of alumni donors earlier this year. This scholarship will benefit future students of the Biology department.

6:00 – 7:00 PM

Gumbo & Cookie Cook Off
Gold Dome Parking Lot (near tennis courts)
Join your student for the annual gumbo and cookie cook off with live music by student performers. Parents are invited to compete against student organizations for the BEST gumbo recipe. Interested in competing? Contact Halen Sumner at email to sign up!

Fun for the whole family! The Development Team and the Department of Public Safety will be grilling burgers and hotdogs for everyone. Stop by the Alumni & Family Relations and SGA tents to pick up fun giveaways and your pre-purchased homecoming t-shirts. The Centenary bookstore will also be on hand with extra Centenary gear for purchase.

Meadows Museum Exhibit Opening Reception
Meadows Museum of Art
Enjoy light refreshments at an opening reception for Birds of the Enlightenment: Predecessors and Rivals of J.J. Audubon. Guest Curator Tom Puryear will give a brief gallery talk at 5:30pm. Dr. Puryear has assembled a collection of over 90 woodcuts, hand-colored engravings, and lithographs from both sides of the Atlantic to reveal the many illustrated publications that preceded and then competed for attention with Audubon’s efforts.

On-Going Throughout the Weekend - Centenary Archives Exhibit

America’s Singing Ambassadors features material from the Centenary Archives documenting the 75-year history of the college’s choir. This exhibit is accessible online as well as on display in the Whited Room lobby of Bynum Commons from September through December 2016.
