Centenary’s friends and alumni ensure the continued success of the College by giving to the Centenary Fund, scholarships, and other designated funds on campus. These contributions enhance student financial aid, faculty and staff salaries, specific programs and projects, and campus improvements and maintenance.

The Centenary Fund

With more than 95% of Centenary students receiving some type of financial aid, donations to the College's scholarships fund are crucial in providing the resources necessary to offer the Centenary Experience to all qualified students. Additionally, gifts to the Centenary Fund for Student Scholarships help keep the College affordable and competitive with other private liberal arts colleges.

Our goal through the Centenary Fund for Student Scholarships is to continue to close the gap between funded and unrestricted scholarship aid, ensuring that the College can continue to offer aid to deserving students will into the future. Your annual gift will make a tremendous impact on the needs of all our Ladies and Gents.

Women's Endowment Quorum

Since 1985, the Women's Endowment Quorum has contributed more than one million dollars to Centenary College. Membership is open, via invitation from the President of the College, to community women who display an active interest in enhancing Centenary College's mission.

PARTICIPATION COUNTS!

All gifts are welcome and appreciated as an important indicator of support for the mission of Centenary College. Indeed, giving percentages, especially for alumni and parents, is an important factor considered by corporations and foundations that award grants and organizations that review Centenary and its programs.

The Centenary Call Center

Fall 2008 saw the establishment of an in-house, student-oriented Call Center. Students contacted many members of the Centenary family prior to the holidays to make a gift in support of the College. So far, over $32,000 have been pledged by alumni, parents, and friends of Centenary to advance the mission of the College. Spring calling will commence in February 2009, so if you receive a call, consider a gift to Centenary and don’t forget to send it in as soon as possible.

Aldersgate Society: Honors congregations in the Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church UMC who support Centenary through their apportionments.

Paul Brown Society: Honors those who have included the college with an Estate Planning Commitment.

C Club: Honors gift at any level in support of the Centenary Fund for Student Athletics.

Automatically Recurring Gifts

When you give online with your credit card, you can take the opportunity to specify a monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly recurring automatic payment.

Matching Gifts : Double Your Dollars (or more!)

What a wonderful way for your gift to grow! Your current employer may double – or even triple – the dollars you give to Centenary. If you are a current employee, retired, or the spouse or widow(er) of an employee, or a member of the Board of Directors of a matching gift company, your donation may be eligible!

First, determine if your employer is a matching gift company. Not sure? Contact your human resources director or check online at www.matchinggifts.com/centenary.

Next, obtain a matching gift form from your employer, fill it out and enclose it with your gift. If the gift has already been made, complete and send the form to Centenary. Many matching gift companies also offer you the opportunity to do your match online!

Finally, accept our sincere thanks! Your gift may be doubled, or even tripled, by your company.

Gifts of Securities

Another gift option is the donation of stocks and/or bonds to the Centenary Fund. Please contact the Office of Philanthropy for more information (318-869-5216). See an approved list of brokers.

Honorary & Memorial Gifts

An honorary or memorial gift to Centenary is a special way to recognize a current or former professor, classmate, friend, or relative. Please designate if your gift is In Memory Of or In Honor Of someone special. The Philanthropy staff will be pleased to inform them or their family of your thoughtfulness.

Planned Giving

Honoring the College by making a gift in your estate establishes an enduring legacy. Join the Paul Marvin Brown Society by designating a future gift to Centenary. Please contact the Office of Planned Giving for more information (318-869-5038).
