The Anderson-Crawford Scholarship Challenge

Overwhelmed by the outpouring of support by Centenary alumni, parents, and friends of the College in response to their 2009 program, Putting Students First: The Anderson-Crawford Million Dollar Match, Centenary board members Bill Anderson '70 and Ed Crawford are working together again this Spring Semester 2010 to Put Students First.

Now, for every dollar up to $1 million in gifts contributed to the Centenary Fund for Student Scholarships (annual, not endowed) prior to June 30, 2010, Putting Students First will donate $2.

What was the Million Dollar Match Outcome?

More than 975 donors made annual gifts in response to the Fall 2009 Anderson-Crawford Million Dollar Match, which contributed $2 to student scholarships for every $1 donated to the Centenary Fund up to $500,000 prior to the end of the 2009 calendar year.

Donations exceeded the goal and now Mr. Anderson and Mr. Crawford are so encouraged by the generosity of the Centenary family that they are extending and expanding the opportunity for you to triple the value of your gifts when you join them in Putting Students First.

What is the new Challenge?

The new challenge is Putting Students First: The Anderson-Crawford Scholarship Challenge.

Focusing on Centenary's efforts to meet the financial needs of students in this unprecedented time of economic uncertainty, Mr. Anderson and Mr. Crawford have pledged to increase their challenge. For every dollar up to $1 million in gifts contributed to the Centenary Fund for Student Scholarships (annual, not endowed) prior to June 30, 2010, Putting Students First will donate $2. As a result, your generous response will propel the Centenary family on its way to contributing $3 million toward making a Centenary education possible for the bright, talented students who will one day join your ranks as the wise, caring and moral leaders this world so desperately needs.

What is the need?

Because more than 95% of all Centenary students receive some type of financial assistance, gifts to support student scholarships continue to be of extreme importance in making the Centenary experience available to all qualified Ladies and Gents. Funds generated by Putting Students First will help to secure this opportunity.

How can you participate?

The success of this new challenge depends on your generosity and that of all who love and support Centenary College. If you have already made an annual gift, consider a second gift. If you haven't made your annual gift, please take advantage of this opportunity to triple your gift and support our Ladies and Gents.
