WEQ Guidelines and Details
Below, find the endowments guidelines, disbursements, membership stipulations, and rules for policy adoptions set forth by the WEQ as of as of November 11, 2009.
Total funds as of 11/10/2009: $357,708.55
This endowment has reached $83,209.99 of the $100,000 goal set by WEQ members. The earnings from this endowment are deposited into the Current Projects fund. WEQ members review proposals for projects from the campus community and distribute the money from this fund to support the projects they select. The WEQ may also elect to fund projects proposed by its own members.
This endowment is currently at $63,031.76. The goal set by WEQ members for this fund is $100,000. Once this endowment reaches $100,000, the earnings will go into Endowment III. This year, Endowment II has earned approximately $5,000.
The balance of this endowment is $51,632.68. The goal set by the WEQ for this fund is $100,000. Once this goal is met, the earnings may be used as determined by the WEQ. In 2005, WEQ members voted that after this endowment reaches $100,000, the earnings will be deposited into the Current Projects Fund.
Rotary Lobby Endowment:
This fund is currently at $25,966.25. Earnings from this fund are used for maintenance and repairs of the Rotary Lobby. The Rotary Lobby Spending Fund, which is comprised of proceeds from this endowment, is currently at $8,394.84. At the spring 2005 meeting, members voted to keep the Rotary Lobby Spending Fund at $5,000 and to transfer any excess to the Current Projects Fund. Thus, $3,394.84 will be transferred to the Current Projects Fund, bringing the balance of that fund to $75,006.48.
Current Projects Fund:
The fund balance is currently $128,620.19. This fund consists of each WEQ membersí yearly minimum contribution of $1,000. WEQ members review proposals each spring for projects from the campus community and distribute the money from this fund to support the projects they select.
Silver Anniversary Scholarship:
The WEQ approved the formation of this $25,000 scholarship in celebration of their organizationsí 25th Anniversary. The fund balance is currently at $2,565 which is now being held in the CP Fund. When this goal is reached, the earnings will be used for Annual Scholarships to be distributed to students meeting the criteria set by the Executive staff.
With the approval of the WEQ Chair and Co-Chair, the President of Centenary College may extend an invitation to membership in the WEQ to any woman considered to be a good candidate. WEQ members will contribute a minimum of $1,000 dues each year and will be enthusiastic supporters of the College in general. WEQ members are encouraged to suggest new members to the WEQ officers, the President, and/or to Centenary administration at any time.
Any policy approved by the WEQ may be modified with a simple majority vote of at least two-thirds of the members. The vote can be taken by mail, fax, email, or during the annual spring business meeting.
